an0nym0u5 asked:
What advice would you give a junior in high school who is doing track and field for their first time? He is not so good with fast runs/sprints but decent in long runs. What evens would you recommend? Someone help!

i have been running track and field for quite a while and i truely enjoy it. there is an event for everybody. i would recommend you to run at least 2-3 miles everyday to build up good stamina, because you are ganna need it
. i think you should try running some miles and 1600m and 3200m and see how you like them. but you really should try a variety of events during your first year and see which ones you like and are good at. hope i helped, good luck
i would start with a 1500m because it’s not as racey as the 800m
when running just try to stick with the pack and run behind someone the avoid the wind
good luck
Start out small, but not too small. Try the 800 or the 4×800 relay. Its alot better running in a relay so its not all on you.
