My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee tends to sit out in the cold for about 8 hours while I’m at school during the day. When it stays around 32 degrees or colder during the day, my car makes a high pitched squealing noise when I lightly press the gas. If I press the gas hard or break, the noise stops. This only happens when it is very cold outside, and it has been sitting outside for hours. The noise is also a lot louder from outside than it is inside. What is the noise?

Do “High Mileage” oils actually make a difference or is it all marketing hype?

Rockstar from another dimension asked:

So I drive a ‘93 Accord with about 180K miles, still running strong. Every time I go to buy oil I always debate over getting the more expensive high mileage formulation.

Does anyone know if there is actually a proven difference that makes it worth buying over the regular oil, or is it all just a marketing game?

It is my 1988 Chevy Camaro IROC w/ a 350 TBI dual injectors.
Just recently The Engine will start up & never Idle back down. I have done many things to try to fix this. You can smell excessive fuel odors comming out of the exauhst; so I know the engine is getting way to much fuel at start up & never comming back down. I rebuilt the TBI unit about 1 year ago, & also changed all the sensors on the unit inculding the MAP sensor & a few others including the O2sensor. Just recently after the problem has started I’ve put in a new IdleAirControl & a new O2sensor. I’ve checked/cleaned/&lubricated the cables & linkage on & around the TBI unit. Starting the engine cold I could tell that the butterfly’s(plates) did not open up after warm-up, the plates remained fully closed in the horizontal position. I’m thinking it has something to do with that, because I’ve also hooked up a computer to read the Codes, & the only thing that came up was the MAT sensor low & O2sensor reading rich

EpicRacer asked:

can i keep my high beams on all the time (at night) and point the lights down so i dont blind oncoming traffic? or will that burn out the bulbs faster?

what about Xenon HID bulbs? i just ordered a set and it came with a 9007 model for my car and an H10 model. i installed the 9007 and they dont seem much brighter than my stock lights and they don have a high beam.
