I need to improve my 5-K time for cross country. I now have a 3 mile time of 19:40. How much is the right amount to run over the summer? How can I shred my time?
Im a freshman and run cross country in high school ( which is 5k). I run varsity for my school and my PR is 17:50. Is that a good time for a freshman?
My younger sister runs the 100meter and 300meter hurdles in high school and is looking at maybe doing track in college. I’m just wondering how much time should be tacked on to get an estimate for the change from 300meter hurdles to college’s 400meter hurdles. Thanks!
I was wondering what the typical time was for 110m hurdles for high school, i.e. average time. I’m going to join this semester for the first time, and i’m thinking about doing hurdles. Is it hard to learn?
What advice would you give a junior in high school who is doing track and field for their first time? He is not so good with fast runs/sprints but decent in long runs. What evens would you recommend? Someone help!
I’m planning to do cross country as my main sport next year (high school freshman) and I need a lot of advice and tips because running tests you mentally and I need to be prepared for that. How many miles should I start with during the summer? Thanks.
I am thinking about joining the track team this spring. I am pretty fast but haven’t ever been on a team. I run well for short distances but not for a long time. The last time I seriously practiced running was in the fall of 8th grade when I still played soccer. I am pretty small, only 5′4 and 90 pounds. Could I have a chance at doing okay on the team? Also, what is your average or best time in these events?
I just tried and got about 14 seconds for 100 meters. It wasn’t exact, I just measured my street and used my ipod for a stopwatch.
I was just wondering what times are generally at certain schools for varsity runners…i know there are schools who have all there guys going under 17 or 18 for a 5k or under 10 or 11 for 2 miles, but what would be a time good enough to get some attention from division 2 or 3 schools or even smaller D1 schools..i dont really care about the times that are for all state guys, i know what that takes..i’m just trying to see where i’m at for like the 5-7 runners on other teams or if you run at college or are a coach, what do you look for? academics, work ethic, attitude, talent? how does it all work out? What should i shoot for junior and senior year to try and run for a D2 or D3 school?
