You could always go to a not-so-great school and be the brightest one in your class. :)

If you are not doing as well as you would like, get extra help from a teacher after school. That will definitely help you do better.

don’t worry. everyone is differant it it doesn’t matter all about grades. yeah ur average should be good, but colleges also look at ur extra activties. sports; band;choras, clubs and how much ur involved. you need to join activties that make you stick out ..

one year a girl who graduted valid dictoiran an another gaduated in at second.. both applied to yale, but the one in second got chosen.. b/c sh had more ctivties. keep ur grades in a a o at the least b average and then mak sure you have plenty of amazing activties.

First understand you can have a good career if you attend any solid reputable university – no need for a prestigious one. They are nice if you can get in – but not necessary.

But if you want to really get a lift think about this. The cost of college education is rising and it is not the guaranteed meal ticket it once was. You have better odds if you complete post grad study. So what you might consider is to plan for that post grad study now. Getting into a community college is a lot easier than a college. Get into a program that has guaranteed transfer arrangements with a good, solid reliable university that does not charge a lot. You can even consider prestigious schools like NYU or Amherst – check out:
‘Amherst aggressively recruits community college transfers, says Thomas H. Parker, its dean of admissions and financial aid. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 a year to transfer students. One of this year’s 38 recipients is attending Amherst.’

For Amherst it is normally the other way around – students aggressivly try to get in – it would be nice for to be recruited by them rather than go looking wouldn’t it?

Then go to a highly rated scool for post grad. You will probably end up saving money over all and once you get postgrad quals they are more importnat than where you did your undergrad. Sneaky heh? Think about it.

    Thanks
    Bill

I predict that you will find the right college for you (which might not be the same one as everyone else is choosing–you should explore colleges very carefully).

Remember that most colleges look at the combination of grades and SAT or ACT scores. Well before you take the test, take a prep course (Kaplan or some such) and really devote yourself to it. It will help.
