I was playing piccolo for the first time today, and I got all the high note. Is this good progress?

high time
briannaa. asked:

I play flute(five years), and today I played the piccolo for the first time. My teacher looked impressed that I got all the high octaves. Is this good progress if I want to switch?

By the way, I’m sorry if I sound cocky. =]
Not five years, four years* , sorry :]

Hm, I’ve played flute for four years, if you want to switch, I’d say go for it because that is good, but I’d wait to see which one you like more.

Also, it could be your experience on the flute that made it a bit easier.

    Hope I helped.

Yes that’s good process. I don’t know anything about flute playing because I’m a brass player (baritone and trumpet) but my friend Brittany playes piccolo and that instrument requites a lot of high octaves to play. But I’ve heard once you go back to flute, you won’t be quite as good or something after you’ve played the piccolo a while.
