Well, I’ve taken five. One my sophomore year, two each my junior and senior year. I know some people that fill up their whole schedule with AP’s, though, so they might have twelve by the time they graduate. A lot of people don’t take any at all, as well.

Not quite sure. I know that most schools don’t allow AP classes until Junior and Senior years.
This year I’m taking 3 (AP American History, AP Biology, AP Spanish Language) although I know a kid with 4 (all of those +AP English), next year I’m taking 4 (AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, AP Comparative Government&Politics, and AP Spanish Lit). Next year though I’m going to have to drop Lunch and another class to have all of them though (probably math, 4 years of it would be nice, but only 3 are mandatory).
I think 7 is above average. I can’t offer any solid numbers, but most colleges want about 3-4 APs, and I suppose that’s how many your average student takes.
